A quick update on matters.

Because my journals never have news, and I'm feeling rather TARTish at the moment.

- I have retake exams next week that hope to boost me from a B to an A grade in some subjects.
- I have Module 4 exams in ALL of my subjects in 3 weeks. And my revision is pretty minimal at the moment. FFFF-
- I've got three university applicaiton replies so far. The first: turns out I applied to the wrong bristol, and they're begging me to go there. Considering I didn't even want to go to the REAL Bristol, I doubt I'll ever say yes. The second: manchester is asking me for an interview, which shows they're at least considering me. And the most recent: my second choice university, Southampton, is asking for 3 Bs or 300 UCAS points (which is the same as 3 Bs, only I can do worse and make it up using things like music exams and AS levels). I'm officially guaranteed a spot at university, folks. Huzzah!

Also, today is the 5-month anniversary of the love of my life, ~fancylances. And it snowed heavily. And Southampton gave me the offer. And I got a new spy record in TF2.

Could today be ANY better?

I'm now the proud owner of all HL1 games, including team fortress classic. And man, were games harder back then.

-HL1 has little to no dialogue after the intro, it's merely "here is one huge linear labyrinth, go nuts." And the sheer number of OOPS you're dead traps are phenomenal
- TFC snipers have one-hit-kill bodyshots that take a mere few seconds to charge and the weapon fires like an SMG. With knockback.
- TFC spies lack a cloak, so being caught is pretty much a death sentence
- Rockets send you flying at the slightest contact
- Demomen are insanely more OP
- Grenades are cheap little whores that strive only to roll around a corner and fuck up your shit.

L4D2 expert realism is still the hardest game I've ever played, but TFC's like Megaman 2 meets Battletoads. Holy HELL, people.

But oh is it worth it. Spying is so much sweeter without all the frills and thrills of a cloak, damage reduction, distance backstab and decent gun. Well, I say sweeter...

(Also if you're reading this, ian, get your fat ass on steam some time. not enough L4D2 has been played
