--Basics-- Name: Unknown, he uses the alias Mr. DeLargo (Largo to his friends)
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Preferred pronoun: He
Race: Human
--Physical: Appearance-- Height: 61
Weight: Light
Build/Body type: Reasonably slim, unmuscular
Skin: Pale
Hair: Light brown
Eyes: Blue
Facial Details: Nothing out of the ordinary. Normal nose, normal mouth.
Other defining features/extra anatomy: He wears a set of false eyelashes on his right eye.
Clothing: DeLargo wears a ringmasters outfit he stole from a Halloween shop - that is to say he wears a white shirt, black bow-tie, black trousers and shoes, a red coat and a black bowler hat. He carries a cane with him wherever he goes.
--Physical: Movement-- Gait/Demeanor: DeLargo attempts to play the part of the ringleader hes so enthralled by, trying to appear flamboyant and charismatic at all times. However, in moments of frustration or anger, he abandons the cheerful façade for a more sinister demeanor.
Voice/Speech patterns: He speaks with a London accent, but pronounces his words clearly in a mock posh accent. In his attempt to appear flamboyant, he usually tries to use flowery words and occasionally quotes literature, particularly upon first meeting.
--Personality-- Loves: Violence, books, alcohol.
Hates/Fears: Ironically, the only thing he fears are Clowns.
Strengths: Hes quick-witted, smart, and good with acting. His strongest skill is his skill at fighting, both with or without a weapon.
Weaknesses: Not incredibly strong or durable, he has an inferiority complex hes trying to overcome and he doesnt have any special power or weapon to aid him in battle. Greatest weakness is his emotional instability - if provoked, he could easily slip into thoughtless rage, clouding his judgement.
Attitude in a group: Hes used to the position of second-in-command, but likes to think of himself as the leader.
Pick one of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS that your character relates to, and one that your character does not relate to: (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride) Relates to: Either lust or wrath, if only because hes not any of the others. He enjoys his women and he has a short temper. Doesnt relate to: Pride. Hes secretly ashamed about his lifestyle, and is far from proud of himself.
Pick one of the SEVEN HOLY VIRTUES that your character relates to, and one that your character does not relate to: (Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Prudence, Temperance) Relates to: Justice. He has something of a sense of right and wrong, and limits himself accordingly. He wouldnt mug a pregnant woman, for example. Doesnt relate to: Any of the rest. Hes not generous, he has no hope or faith in humanity or anything else, and he doesnt even understand Fortitude or Temperence.
Quirks: - He enjoys making large motions with his cane as he talks. He thinks it makes him seem more charismatic. - He uses bigger, more convoluted words the more important a conversation feels. Such as trying to woo a girl. - Ever since he read A Clockwork Orange, he began sporadically referring to his comrades as Droogs - His cane is actually something of a family heirloom. His grandfather bought it back in the 60s to defend himself. Its probably the one thing he actually cares about - Hes an enthusiastic reader, but he doesnt have the patience for anything too grand. 1984 and Trainspotting are the sort of level he can manage.
Other: DeLargo is emotionally unbalanced - that is to say, he has something of an alternate personality which he refers to as his true self whereas his usual state of mind is his mask. Usually, he loses his mask during times of intense stress, such as during fights or when emotional pressure is exerted upon him. This mask persona is much more violent and has subdued feelings - DeLargo feels the impression of being empty inside, filled with only an indiscriminate hatred and anger.
--History/Background-- Setting: Modern Day
Family: DeLargo insists that he has no family other than the gang.
Friends: Old Malcolm - mentor and father figure. Charlie and George - usual cohorts in nighttime marauding.
Backstory: DeLargo has always been a troubled youth, spending time with the wrong sort of crowd and living the life of a juvenile delinquent. At the age of 13, he manage to be taken in by one of Londons various gang groups known as The Comedians - a medium-sized group of hooligans and organised criminals who wear assorted costumes to protect their identities. There he was taken under the wing of a high-ranking member called Old Malcolm. He became reasonably high-up in the pecking order, and shares an appartment with the old man.
Old Malcolm taught DeLargo everything he knew - proper combat, appreciation for Literature, even put him through a somewhat decent education. As a result, DeLargo came to idolise him. But DeLargo began to feel dissatisfied with the criminal life, wanting to leave to become a normal member of soceity. However, his ties to Malcolm keep him involved with the gang culture, as well as his persistent thirst for violence.
--Combat-- Fighting Style: Skilled and agile, DeLargo usually fights using his cane to deal non-lethal blows to incapacitate an opponent. If things get more desperate, he may resort to using his knife to inflict more damage and even kill an opponent.
Weapons/Gear: The cane DeLargo carries around conceals two blades - it can split into three parts: A knife, a sword, and the main body of the cane. He rarely uses the sword, preferring either the personal touch of the knife or the satisfying bluntness of the cane.
Physical Attributes: Hes swift, but not strong with low durability. A few good blows would put him down for the count.
Group combat techniques: DeLargo usually relies on other members of the group to swarm a target, and then goes in himself to join the fray.
--Tournament-- The Soul: Old Malcolm - After he is killed during a night out, DeLargo blames himself for his mentors death. When Death arrives to collect the soul, DeLargo pleads with him to resurrect him. Death offers him a place in the tournament, instead.
Other: DeLargo is willing to pick up comrades along the way, but his violent tendencies have a habit of rendering that impossible. If beaten and offered the opportunity to team up for the remaining portion of the tournament, hed accept without hesitation.
--Last Words-- List the three most important things about your character. 1. For all his violent tendencies, DeLargo does want to be good and honest, and isnt completely ruthless or amoral. 2. While he does see himself as having two personalities, its far from being schizophrenic. He views his true emotions as artificial, like a mask - not a different person altogether. 3. His inferiority complex leads him to try and be superior to other people, stemming from a feeling that he is really below them. This causes him to play the part of a ringleader - entertaining people while remaining in control of the show.
Because I decided Charles needed more time in Nevara, and I couldn't be dealing with any alternate timeline development. So here's another emotionally conflicted emo guy for the upcoming , because I've obviously not learned my lesson from the whole Edward Gekkou ordeal.
Anyway, DeLargo is largely inspired by Alex from A Clockwork orange. Plus I kind-of got the idea for a ringleader character from the "I write Sins Not Tragedies" music video. So sue me.
Also, he's supposed to complete the trio of English Gothic fellas I've been thinking up - halfway between Charles' black and The Magician's white lies DeLargo's red. That goes for sanity, too.
On a side note: I CAN'T DRAW HAAANDS!

And thank you. I really need to make a picture of the three together.
Also two of them have hats, and two of them have gentlemanly paraphenalia (umbrella and cane.) I need to give Charles a hat and Maggy a cane-like wand or something.

Gah! Another character of yours I'll have to draw...eventually. And the hand is fine. I've noticed your use of proportions has gotten better.
I like him. He has a very interesting personality and I like that he has a fear of clowns. You always have the most bizarre characters. (In a good way of course.) ...Why are all three of your gentlemen so tall? I feel so dwarfed when I read their heights.
Well, Charles and DeLargo have some elements of self-insertion (namely height and outfit), and i'm a huge freak of nature. As for Maggy? Well, he can hardly seem mysterious and slightly ominous if he's 4'3" now can he?

Yep. Everyone wears a costume, but they aren't all so flamboyant as DeLargo. Most just wear facepaint, or a simple halloween getup, like a clown mask. Those are the ones DeLargo avoids.
In particular, Old Malcolm wears an old pinstripe gangster outfit, while Charlie and George just go with simple masquerade masks.
And I'm still going to explain the girl, yes, but probably not until a future tourney. Mostly because Charles is going to be palling around with =Haikera-Baiketsu's Torren and pals for the foreseeable future, and I don't want to waste material on mere spectator entries.
But I gave some detail about her in my original EX audition, and I'll probably post that up in my scraps folder, but I'm recycling a lot of material from it for DeLargo's piece so you may find one cheapens the other slightly.

Wait, do all of the people in the gang wear some sort of costume? Does that include Old Malcolm?
In particular, Old Malcolm wears an old pinstripe gangster outfit, while Charlie and George just go with simple masquerade masks.
